Financials are a big focus of ours right now. We can make a strong case that this is the most important sector in America. Traditionally, Industrials are the most positively correlated with the S&P500 and Technology is the largest sector by market cap. But we don’t have bull markets without bank stocks. That’s the way this works. [Read more…]
Money Game Podcast: The Availability Heuristic (EP.8)
In this episode of The Money Game, Phil and I talk about the Availability Heuristic and why we are more likely to invest in certain types of companies depending on where we live. This is a really interesting phenomenon that makes a lot of sense. I’m lucky that I get to avoid this bias more than others simply because of the process I use to perform my analysis. It’s a solution to a problem I didn’t even know I had! This is a short one that I think is worth a listen just to learn a little bit more about yourself. [Read more…]
Amazon Stock Is Ready For Its Next Leg Higher!
Remember last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, when Amazon would just rip higher all the time? That uptrend came to an abrupt halt last Fall, and $AMZN came tumbling down like many other stocks around the globe. After almost a year of consolidation, it appears as though Amazon shares are ready to get going again. [Read more…]
[Premium India] Monthly Conference Call Video Recording July 2019
This is the recording from the live July 2019 Conference Call for Members of the Allstarcharts India! Before getting into individual stock ideas in India, we’re going to first start with the global macro perspective. Once we identify the direction of the underlying trends from a structural and broader view, then we’ll dive into the NIFTY Indexes on both longer-term and short-term timeframe. We want to look at Large-caps, Small-caps and everything in between before getting into the Sector and Industries themselves like Energy, Banks and Pharma.
This is when we finally break things down to the individual stock scenario with identified risk vs reward opportunities. That is what this is all about – aligning ourselves in the direction of the underlying trend while at the same time identifying where the risk is to make sure the potential reward is skewed exponentially in our favor. You will find that throughout this process we discuss Momentum, Fibonacci and Relative Strength. I encourage you to check out the Education Section so you know exactly where I’m coming from when you hear me mention these tools.

Video: What Is Technical Analysis???
If you ask 100 people what Technical Analysis is, you might get 100 different answers. In this video I try to explain what Technical Analysis means to me. There are a lot of misconceptions about what it is and what it isn’t. I hope I can clear some of that up in this short video!
All Star Interviews Season 3, Episode 2: Rob Koyfman, Founder of Koyfin
On this Episode of the Podcast Interviews I sit down and chat with Rob Koyfman, the founder of Koyfin. This is my favorite new data and analytics platform and I find myself using these tools every day. What I find interesting and one of the reasons why we’re investors is because they are building tools for both the Technical and the Fundamental community. Rob also points out the huge demand for portfolio analytics tools for Investment Advisors. The demand for these tools is coming from everyone. Him and I are often debating whether price only charts are a better representation of supply and demand than dividend adjusted charts, so we get into that discussion in this episode. Feel free to join the conversation and Tweet us @allstarcharts and @KoyfinCharts and let us know what you think. [Read more…]
Join Me In San Francisco August 16th!
Over the last few years, I’ve been lucky to be invited to speak at a variety of Stocktwits meetups in San Francisco. I’ve been living in Sonoma, CA since 2015 so I don’t get to attend the events and happy hours in New York City all the time like I once did. These meetups give me a chance to chat with local traders and investors about the market and have conversations that I simply don’t have with friends up in wine country!
On Friday August 16th at 6PM we are taking our San Francisco Meetups to another level. For this special night, I am partnering with the MoneyShow and Stocktwits to bring you: Finding the Best Stocks Using a Top/Down Approach
The presentation will begin at 6PM and will go until 6:45 where the Stocktwits Happy Hour will begin. We’ll have friends there from all around the country and I’d like to invite you to join us FREE!
